What started as an idea for a t-shirt brand, changed into a movement of youth who are Making Change, Breaking Barriers and Empowering the upcoming generation through Art. The Orenda Tribe is a lifestyle brand that champions children through featuring their artwork on its Eco-friendly products and that is on a mission of Empowering Children in Disadvantaged Communities through Art. We personally run and fund activities such as Art Education, Art Therapy and School Beautification Projects in our partner communities #ArtforHope To date we reached around 2,000 children through 17 Giving Back Projects and in 6 different communities https://www.theorendatribe.com/pages/giving-back. The Birth of The Orenda Tribe In 2014/2015, as part of his MBA program at IE Business School, Zaid Souqi participated in a leadership program that took him to Johannesburg for 3 months to volunteer with a foundation that cared for orphaned and vulnerable children living in rural communities in South Africa. Zaid was inspired by the drive and the contagious positive energy that the workers of the foundation had. Everyday they worked towards changing someone’s life, empowering people and making impact. This is when Zaid decided to start the journey of search for purpose in life. Coming from a country with dire need of help, Jordan, and inspired from his experience in South Africa, he created The Orenda Tribe. Zaid went back home in the summer of 2015 and quit his corporate job 8 months into it, in the aim of dedicating himself to setting up The Orenda Tribe and pursuing a purposeful life. Why Art? Regardless of people’s background, upbringing or differences we all speak the language of art. Art is a universal language that breaks barriers between people. Art is a tool that can teach children life skills such as confidence, problem-solving, teamwork and communications. Art is the highest form of hope. It is a catalyst for change.
