In 1995 Al-Dawliyah for Hotels and Malls PLC (MALL) was established as an affiliate of Arab International Hotels to develop hotel properties managed under the Sheraton brand. In 1996 MALL purchased a strategic land in west Amman on the fifth circle with the intent of developing the first Sheraton Hotel in the country. After elaborate designs and planning, construction of the hotel commenced in 1996. In 2001 the hotel was up and running and was the first Sheraton and Starwood Group Hotel in Jordan. MALL is a publicly listed company, with a paid-up capital of JD 43 million and shareholders’ equity of JD 57 million as of the end of 2017.
