The Middle East Network on Innovative Teaching and Learning (MENIT) was officially launched in March 2011. MENIT is open to individuals from all public and private organizations, with initial focus on Jordan, Lebanon, the Palestinian territories, and Syria. The objective of MENIT is to support educational experts in their efforts to improve graduates’ capabilities in critical analysis and creative thinking. Until March of 2015 the project was initiated and funded by GIZ (German Development Cooperation) on behalf of the German government, in the framework of its programme “Open Regional Fund for MENA (ORF-MENA). As of 1 April 2015, MENIT will be administered by Youth Educational Development (YED). MENIT Vision: Empowering educators from Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria to cooperate and contribute towards innovation and sustainable educational change. MENIT Mission: Create a dynamic regional network among educational experts and practitioners to carry out research projects and share innovative practices. MENIT Goals • Establish effective and sustainable coordination among educators; • Empower educators in their efforts to influence policy making; • Support educators in their efforts to improve key areas in education; • Work towards achieving learning outcomes of contemporary education.
