HelpAge International is committed to helping older people claim their rights, challenge discrimination, and overcome poverty. HelpAge International undertook its first project in Jordan entitled "Leaving No One Behind"​ and opened its Knowledge & Resource Hub in October 2017 in Amman. The purpose of this project is to target older men and women in Jordan (Syrian refugees and host communities) to ensure that they have better access to basic services and livelihood opportunities provided by local, national and international organisations, private sector and the government. Overall, this project through multiple activities aims to train 200 staff from 25 local, national and international organizations and private sector on age inclusive programing models. The Knowledge & Resource Hub developed a "Helping Older People in Emergencies"​ (H.O.P.E) Training Manual which serves as a tool for staff of International and Local Agencies as well as government and private sector in order to include older people in humanitarian response. The Knowledge & Resource Hub conducted Training of Trainer's Program for staff of International and Local NGO's as well as various government sectors. A total of 122 staff have been trained and these trainings will continue and are currently being developed into a distance learning tool that will be made available in hard to reach areas in Turkey, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Lebanon. Lastly, the Knowledge & Resource Hub has opened its doors to older people and a group of older people have formulated named “The First Generation Group” and meet weekly at the hub and are provided with awareness sessions and various activities that are coordinated and supervised by the HelpAge Knowledge & Resource Hub in cooperation with various governmental and non-governmental organizations in order to raise awareness and enhance their participation and social role in Jordan.
